Dennis was killed while patrolling near Fire Support Base Ripcord, when he took a fatal enemy rifle shot while securing a helicopter pick-up zone to evacuate a wounded comrade

 

Dennis is honored on Panel 08W – Line 17 of  the Vietnam Veterans Memorial

 

Dennis is buried at Clarks Chapel Cemetery in Paragould, Greene County, Arkansas
