Gary succumbed to small arms fire 17 days after arriving in-country, still only a teenager. Gary was survived by his parents, Charles F. and Ardella F. (Jacobs) Neiman, two sisters, Ardella L. and Dorothy J., and three brothers, Edgar J., William G., and Charles F. Neiman.
