Daniel served with the B-2/501st in RVN 69-70 and passed away on 19 Nov 2014.

“I replaced him as 1st Platoon Leader when Dan became company XO, and I am very saddened to hear we lost him. At least I got to see him again, for the first (and now only) time since Vietnam, at the 2012 reunion.
When I joined the platoon I spent a week in the field with Dan before he left to serve as company XO at LZ Sally. One thing Dan was known for was his white nose, because he used zinc oxide cream to prevent sunburn. When Dan left the platoon, he souvenired me his zinc oxide. And when I saw him at the reunion 43 years later, he brought something for me–more zinc oxide. :)”
